BanaBay Targeting Growth for Mexico

Global fruit grower and distributor BanaBay will be looking to maximise its new sourcing arrangements with plantations in Mexico at Fruit Logistica this year, in a bid to build the brand in the European market place.

Since taking the decision to supplement banana provision from its owned plantations in Ecuador in Summer 2014, BanaBay is now shipping up to 12 containers a week from the region to New Zealand and Europe giving customers access to a year-round banana supply.

Alessia Pilade, Business Development Manager, BanaBay says: “Since November last year we have been bringing bananas from Mexico to Rotterdam and customers are telling us they are happy with the quality and continuity of supply. We are looking at increasing volumes in 2015 while building awareness of BanaBay Mexico in Europe and the rest of the world.

BanaBay Mexico is also one of the sources for the latest addition to the fruit portfolio – mangoes.
